Almeria Almeria is the capital province in Andalusia, Spain. The city is situated on the Mediterranean coast and has a population of 189,789 inhabitants.

Principal city of the province of the same name, Almeria was an important port in the Mediterranean since Roman times (Portus Magnus), is known as Al-Arab Mariyya (mirror size). Above the town are two picturesque castles. Old quarter is characterized by narrow streets and whitewashed facades.
