About Cala Mayor - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
In a little under 20 km, or 12 lamb west of Son Sant Joan Airport International, transfer to Cala Mayor is probably one of the shortest on the island, and should take, usually no more than 15-20 minutes from the time leave the airport grounds.
However, the bitter experience of the highway system Palma showed that this time travel can and will vary depending on the time of day.
Also, in theory at least, this is one of the few resorts on Mallorca where it is possible to make the transfer from the airport by public transport, though I would personally never enjoy the idea of getting on a bus with a flight bag and suitcase, and then trying to find the right change.
However, the thought of using public transport should certainly not take into account most of the visitors here.
Cala Mayor remains relatively undiscovered by all major tour operators in the UK, and most visitors to the resort tend to be independent travelers who make short trip from the airport either by taxi or car hire.
Although taxis are always many outside the arrivals hall, in theory at least should all operate on a fixed price, charging usually around 20 euros for the short trip to the resort, experience has shown that this "price fix "may vary slightly depending on the number of suitcases, time of day or night of the trip, and of course, the number of passengers transported.
For visitors who choose to drive, this is the closest station to the west of Palma, although for inexperienced drivers, it is easy to miss completely turn everything Cala Mayor. As a result, and in response to the large number of requests we have received in recent months, we tried now to produce a comprehensive version of this route, complete with links to maps, if any, can be found at route map link on the left frame of this page.
Looking at a map of Mallorca for most people will be almost impossible to spot the resort of Cala Mayor everything that most do not even officially recognize. However, Cala Mayor is conveniently located east of Sant Agusti easily.
Cala Mayor is the first resort that you come as you head west from Palma, and despite being close to the islands capital, it does not feel yet still manages to retain its distinct and very much has its own identity. Indeed, what makes the area unique in this respect, in contrast with the neighboring landscape Palma and Magaluf. This invariably brings about its advantages!
Cala Major is really just about walkable in the west of Palma around the shopping center in Porto Pi and port nearby, and what you discover is a mixture of hotels old style apartments, bungalows and a beautiful beach .
Cala Mayor | Although still officially recognized as an independent state itself, Cala Mayor is for all intents and purposes, a residential suburb in the south-west section of Palma.
