About Cala Vinas - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
This small resort has only a few local bars and restaurants, along with a local Spar supermarket and a few gift shops. But the most precious asset of Cala Vinas is undoubtedly its white sandy beach, with clear blue waters.
In recent years, a number of palm trees have also been planted by the local council on the beach, giving visitors the sought-after shade in the middle of summer.
Built around a small bay surrounded by rocks and pine forests, Cala Vinas enjoys its own micro climate and where the sun shows its face for at least 300 days every year.
Part of the residential destination and part of the vacation, most of the properties in Cala Vinas are built on a promontory, offering spectacular views over the Magaluf and Palma bays.
The proximity of Cala Vinas to some of the more developed resorts along the southern coast, also offers numerous opportunities for a variety of attractions, entertainment and sporting activities.
There is a bus line along the southwest coast, but you can also rent a car for faster travel.
By car you can easily access the Santa Ponsa and Paguera resorts, and in half an hour you can be in the middle of the island, giving you the opportunity to visit many of the resorts.
If you decide to rent a car and really want to escape the resort for a day, nearby are the beaches of El Mago, Cala Falco and Portals Vells, all with beautiful sand and clear waters such as Cala Vinas.
All are very popular bays for visitors with yachts and boats.
El Mago is one of the few legal naturalistic beaches in Mallorca and was the place where part of the 1960s film, El Mago (The Magician), was filmed with Anthony Quinn, Candice Bergen and Michael Caine. Part of a building built for filming can be found on the bridge overlooking the beach.
Also, less than a kilometer from Cala Vinas, is the unaltered bay of Cala Falco. Due to its secluded location, it never fills, although many boats anchor in the summer, as it is very popular with SCUBA divers and snorkels. Access to the beach is, like Cala Vinas, through steps.
Cala Vinas | Part of the municipal district of Calvia, and just two kilometers from the outskirts of the cosmopolitan resort Magaluf, the small and friendly resort of Cala Vinas is a paradise on the southwest coast of France
