Chiclana de la Frontera della Costa Luz is located on the southern coast of Spain, in Andalusia lower on the coast southwest of the province of Cadiz. The municipality is bordered to the north of Puerto Real, San Fernando north-northwest and Conil de la Frontera in the south-southeast.
The average altitude is 11 meters (36 ft) above sea level. The economy depends heavily on modern industry, especially the salt processing and tourism, and the municipality is known for its beaches, such as 6 km (3.7 mi) long Playa de la Barrosa, hotels and golf resort of Novo Sancti Petri. The municipality contains the largest number of hotel beds in the province of Cadiz and Costa de la Luz. City newspaper, Información Chiclana, is distributed on Saturday morning.
