Gandia is a seaside resort located on the Costa del Azahar - Orange Trees Spanish coast, 65 km south of Valencia.
With about 55 000 inhabitants Gandia is one of the largest cities in the area.
A large coastal city and an important tourist destination it is divided into two areas: Gandia town with historical monuments and commercial activity, and 2 km away, Gandia Beach with summer residences, night clubs and bars.
Gandia Beach with a length of about 11 km, is an attraction, especially for tourists from Spain and other counties.
4 km away from the city and found a small port - El Grao, or El Grau in Catalan.
Gandia is a destination especially Spanish, but lately arriving here and tourists from France, Britain and Germany, attracted by the long fine sandy beaches of the Valencian coast.
City Centre full of palm trees lined pedestrian boulevards, shops, bars and restaurants, is thought to be a good shopping destination.
A major attraction is the Palacio del Santo Duque. It lies on the highest point of the city Gandía, at the eastern end of the street Paseo de las Germanías. Palacio del Santo Duque of Spain was declared a national monument.
A little south of Gandia will find the old town of Oliva, also worth visiting.
