About Hospitalet De Llobregat - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
The surface of L'Hospitalet is 12.49 km². The area on which the city is built can be divided into two different geological zones. One of them follows the coast typology and is called La Marina, similarly to two coastal areas of the neighboring area of Barcelona: La Marina del Prat Vermell and La Marina de Port. The last half of L 'Hospitalet is called El Samontà, which consists of hills and a higher area. The community adopted its current name in the 16th century from the small hospital that housed travelers and pilgrims as early as the 12th century. An architectural landmark is the 12th-century Romanesque-style hermitage of Santa Eulalia de Provenzana. The main industry of the city is steel.
