Matalascañas coastline is surrounded by the Doñana National Park (also called, Coto de Doñana), and was separated from it in 1961 to allow the development of a beach-side tourist village.
The beach itself is 7 km long with an average width of 80 meters. You can go off for several kilometers and even continue in the Doñana National Park's pristine beaches along the Gulf of Cadiz from.
