Located between two highly promoted tourist Ribs (Blanca and del Sol) Murcia city is the capital of the autonomous region with the same name.
Murcia province is in south-east, and here is named metropolis region. The word "Murcia" comes from Latin, meaning in Romanian translation, mulberry. Here, the leaves of mulberry trees were subject to trade, as food for silk worms used to produce silk.
Murcia is built in the center of a fertile plain, known as the Huerta or Murciei garden, which includes Sangonera valleys and river Segura and is surrounded by mountains.
Less well known by tourists, Murcia is an ancient city that has an area built by Arabs and some cathedrals built in a Baroque style easily.
In the square in front of the Cathedral (Plaza Cardenal Belluga) are episcopoului palace, a colorful and controversial expansion of the town hall, by Rafael Moneo.
Glorieta - near the river Segura, has been the traditional center of town. This is a market built in the 18th century embellished. Hall is also located throughout the place.
Pedestrian areas cover much of the old city, situated around the streets and Traperia Platería. Traperia stretches from the cathedral to Santo Domingo market.
But beauty of the city is not trump this destination, but the surroundings. So, if you get here, make your way to the southeast, the National Park Sierra de Espana and the historic towns and Vella Lorca Blanco. Or, better yet, go to the sea - just passing the Gulf of Mazarrón region awaits Aguilas whose splendid beaches have not yet been discovered by the masses all international tourists.
Murcia has a pleasant Mediterranean climate, mild winters and dry summers respectively.
And as temperatures for September to October are on average 20 degrees, do not worry about the possibility of beach and bath.
