The Galician language, or Orense in Spanish, is a city in northwestern Spain, located on the banks of the river Minho (Miño). In this city the river is crossed by the bridge Ponte Vella, whose Roman foundations.
Orense is divided into three areas: the old center with narrow streets and small squares, formed in the nineteenth century and modern urban development area of the city. Unlike other towns in Galicia, Ourense su combines medieval and modern aspects. The most important monument is the cathedral built in 572 and rebuilt in the thirteenth century. Another landmark in Ourense is the former palace now houses the Museum Bishops provincial archeology.
Ourense is situated on the historic road Route de la Plata - Golden Path - that links the southern peninsula and was used by pilgrims who went to Santiago de Compostela
