Retamar is a residential area of Almeria, located about 14 km from the urban core, coming from Almeria on Highway AL-12 from the N-344 highway Mediterraneo. In the area there is a golf course and eight four-star hotels. Also near the airport is situated in Almeria Retamar and Cabo de Gata Natural Park - Níjar.
Retamar lies on a thin strip with a length of about three kilometers from north to south and only a few hundred meters east-west width. Development structure is parallel to Rambla del Agua, incheiendu the Mediterranean.
