Vielha is a community village in Spain in Catalonia in the province of Lleida.
Vielha is a small town with about 4,000 inhabitants situated at an altitude of 974 meters.
Surrounded by peaks reaching over 2000 meters, Vielha is built along the river valley at the intersection point Garon and Garon Nere rivers. Both rivers cross the city.
Vielha City was created in 1970 by merging the villages Betlán, Escunhau, Gausac, Vielha and Vilaça.
Summer, Vielha is ideal for hiking and cycling.
There are numerous mountain peaks, which are an ideal destination for tourists. While browsing you will discover wonderful places mountain trails with mountain lakes, waterfalls, meadows and beautiful forests. Surrounding peaks are also a popular spot for tourists keen on paragliding.
The highlight of the city is the Vielha Baquera-Beret ski resort. Baquera is one of the most popular ski resorts in the Vall d'Aran, which offers many tourist opportunities and excellent ski conditions. It offers more than 100 km of ski slopes.
There are free buses that go up towards the mountain every morning.
Vielha is prevalent in atmosphere of serenity, peace and friendship, ideal features for outdoor activities or simply spend some nice days in the mountains.
