Badajoz is a city in western Spain, which is on the left bank of the Guadiana River, which was founded by the Moors in 875.

This city is located in the province of Extremadura, bordering Portugal, halfway between Lisbon, Madrid and Seville.

Badajoz is the largest province of Spain (21.600 km square.) And one of the most populated cities - 145,000 inhabitants.

Originally a Celtic settlement, Badajoz was successively in the hands of the Romans and Visigoths, and in 1031 became the capital of a Moorish kingdom.

During the Peninsular War, Badajoz was taught French in 1811, but was retaken by the Duke of Wellington next year.
